The scene from Spike Lee’s 1998 film, He Got Game, where Jesus Shuttlesworth (Ray Allen) plays Jake Shuttlesworth (Denzel Washington) one on one. Reportedly, Spike Lee wanted them to play for real in this scene, and they did. The final score is legit.

@SynysterBaller1341 it pretty much means: the basketball connection will never die. Where ever you are.
1st of all, god is love
I showed my teenage son this film hoping he could see that JAKE was trying to be the best dad he could possibly be with little experience in the parenting field.
JAKE didn’t have role models to show him how to show love and affection.
He felt it, in the end when he wrote that letter
He was pushing his son away instead of being the magnet he wanted to be.
I’m white. Spike Lee is a masterful director. This scene clearly illustrates a man versus his coping skills with his father. It’s almost revengeful, however, if one were to take it that way they would be wrong. Shuttlesworth expresses his fears, trials and tribulations without a father who clearly pushed him too far. Though it brought him great success, he wants to show his father the price he has payed.
We can all learn from this and the culture that surrounds us as a country.
@KOKING313 all u said is true. we do like you. and racism is really wrong.
its motivating and inspirational

This movie is so cool!
@SynysterBaller1341 The scene you’re referring to is merely symbolic, and the logistics of it are not really meant to be taken literal.

@3movies0nline The orchestrated music used throughout the movie was by Aaron Copland. Spike Lee’s choice.
